Job Title: Electrical DesignerJob Description

A large 75-person firm in Rancho Cordova is looking for a skilled and design-focused Electrical Designer to join their Health Care team. You will work directly with the Project Manager and production professionals to utilize Revit in completing both modernization/retrofit and new construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Utilize Revit to complete both modernization/retrofit and new construction projects.

• Work directly with the Project Manager and production professionals.

• Design electrical systems including low voltage, lighting, power, fire alarm systems, and energy compliance.

• Draft and design using CAD software such as AutoCAD.

• Ensure compliance with OSHPD requirements.

• Collaborate with team members and take direction from the team leader.

• Work on K12 projects involving various systems including Fire Alarm, Telecom/Data and Voice Systems, Access Control System, AV system (classroom only), Assisted Listening System, Clock and Bell System, Intercom and Paging System, Public Address System (excluding large gyms/MPR’s), Intrusion Alarm System, Surveillance Camera System (network wiring only), Two-Way Communication (elevators), and Nurse Call.

Essential Skills

• Experience with Revit or AutoCAD and ability to utilize it independently on all projects.

• Strong drafting and design skills in electrical design and low voltage systems.

• Experience with MEP, HVAC, and Plumbing systems.

• Knowledge of lighting, power, and fire alarm design.

• Familiarity with energy compliance software.

• Ability to take direction from team leaders and work collaboratively.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• At least one previous position out of undergrad before the current job.

• Experience working on K12 projects.

• Knowledge of photo metric and bluebeam.

Work Environment

The company has a large modern office in Rancho Cordova, with an additional office in Long Beach that supports design projects. The workspace features an open pit area with tall, walled cubicles equipped with standing desks and dual monitors. The environment is quiet with a more corporate consulting feel. Principals have offices along the outside walls of the pit. An on-site gym is available for employees. The company values work-life balance and offers a flexible work schedule.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $36.00/hr.
