SOS International LLC COMSEC Custodian in Ramstein-Miesenbach, Germany

Overview

SOS International LLC (SOSi) is seeking a COMSEC Custodian at Ramstein AFB, Germany in support of a large, mission-essential IT services program with continuous (24x7) operations. The candidate will assist our A6 clients with required systems that support IT mission environments. COMSEC Custodians need solid technical skills and experience for the receipt, custody, issue, safeguarding, accounting for, and, when necessary, the destruction of COMSEC material. COMSEC Custodians are responsible for the maintenance of up-to-date records and the submission of required accounting reports. The Contractor shall serve as an alternate COMSEC Custodian assisting the Government COMSEC Custodian and providing continuity of operations in the Government COMSEC Custodian's absence.

Essential Job Duties

  • Responsible for supporting the receipt, custody, issue, safeguarding, accounting for, and, when necessary, the destruction or COMSEC material.

  • Assists with shipping cryptographic products and key material weighing up to 50 pounds.

  • Use the Distributed Information Security (INFOSEC) Accounting System (DIAS).

  • Performs Field Tamper Recovery (FTR), upgrading cryptographic device firmware, and ensuring the interoperability of firmware versions between enterprise encryptors.

  • Knowledge of the General Dynamics TACLANE line of In-Line Network Encryptors (INE), to include the KG-175A, KG-175D and KG-175G.

  • Installs, deploys, uses, and manages the General Dynamics GEM-X High Assurance Internet Protocol Encryptor (HAIPE) Manager.

  • Plans and executes Out-Of-Band-Key Transfer (OOBKT) for remote rekey of enterprise encryptors on multiple networks using GEM-X HAIPE Manager. Requires experience in Suite-A and Suite-B network environments, architecture and key material requirements.

  • Reads and interprets complex network drawings and documentation as they relate to cryptographic requirements.

  • Performs hands-on installation, maintenance, configuration and troubleshooting of COMSEC equipment, as required.

  • Programs and operates approved key fill devices, including KIK-20 and KIK-30 and AN/CYZ-10.

  • Performs Over-The-Air-Transfer (OTAT) of key material to remote sites using the General Dynamics Sectera vIPer and the L-3 Secure Terminal Equipment (STE).

  • Provides training and COMSEC oversight to local and remote site personnel for the KG-175A, KG-175D, KG-175G, KG-245X, Sectera vIPer, Sectera GSM, Sectera Wireline Terminal, STE, DTD, SDS (KIK-20) and RASKL (KIK-30).

  • Provides incident response using multiple software applications, including Remedy and JIRA (U).

  • Participates in special projects as required.

Minimum Requirements

  • An active in-scope TOP SECRET security clearance

  • BA/BS Degree in computer science/systems, information systems/ technology, engineering/engineering technology, software engineering/ programming, management, natural sciences, social sciences, mathematics, Education, English or Literature or business/finance.

  • Minimum of four years of previous hands-on experience working with COMSEC, of which at least one year must be specialized.

  • Education and experience requirements may be substituted with:

  • A master’s degree (in subjects described above) and two years general experience of which at least one year must be specialized experience.

  • No degree and 11 years general experience of which at least five years is specialized.

  • Must be able to obtain certification as a Technical Expert by the German Government under the Technical Expert Status Accreditation (TESA) process.

  • Key Management Infrastructure (KMI) Certification

  • Must be a graduate of the COMSEC Custodian Course OR component equivalent course

  • Must be willing to work overtime, after hours, holidays, and weekends, as necessary.

  • Understanding of US Air Force IT operational and technical requirements and an advanced understanding of US Air Force IT applications and network systems.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently or under only general direction.

Preferred Qualifications

  • ITIL Foundation certification

  • Demonstrated experience with COMSEC account administration/management.

  • Knowledgeable in the mission and OCONUS operational requirements of the US Air Force
