JOB SUMMARY

The VP, End User Technology Products is responsible for the leadership and management of a geographically dispersed team that delivers world class end user technology and computing products to Marriott International associates. This role will establish and lead discrete product teams within their organization to drive ownership and accountability for delivering exceptional customer experiences. This individual will be experienced in leading, developing and delivering designs and capabilities around desktop, tablet, wearable and mobile infrastructure with a vision for simplicity, automation and self-empowerment functions. Overall experience with end user technology and computing services design, measurement and transformation will be critical functions associated with this role. Other aspects of the role will focus on directory and collaboration services administration and design (e.g., e-mail, active directory, LDAP, e-directory) plus software deployment, hosting and distribution.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned, hands-on leader with the energy and experience to lead through change. This leader is passionate about collaboration, communication clarity, building purposeful process, execution excellence, and an advocate for continuous improvement. This leader must possess the patience and skills to garner feedback from multiple teams and continuously ensuring delivery of products to the those teams. This leader will need a strong ability to build solid long term symbiotic relationships that transverse teams; while having a knack to push back and make arguments to improve ideas. This leader must be strategic with an ability to implement that strategy; communicate it to executive leadership of the company; deliver results by adopting and using Scaled Agile Framework; and create processes that enable flow without the overhead of gates or checks that breaks the moment of teams. Must have the polish and executive presence to present to C-level executives. This executive will also be responsible for process development across the organization for managing demand.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

Required:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience and certifications

  • 12+ years of Information Technology leadership experience with 3+ years at a Sr. Director level or higher managing direct reports and service provider teams

  • 10+ years leading teams that deliver and support customer facing enterprise systems and services

  • 8+ years experience delivering large scale end user technology and computing solutions

  • 5+ years working with third party service suppliers and ITO organizations; including financial, SLA and service definition functions

  • 5+ years experience negotiating with and managing Service Provider relationships

  • Experience working with remote and offshore development and support teams

  • Experience developing and delivering large scale enterprise infrastructure services

  • Proven ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment

  • Strong financial acumen; must have previous experience managing operational and capital budgets in excess of $20M

Preferred:

  • Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology Management or an MBA is desired

  • Demonstrated success leading large-scale infrastructure initiatives/transformations

  • A thorough understanding of the interdependence of systems and their impact to the business

  • End to end infrastructure lifecycle experience related to desktop, mobile and virtual computing environments

  • Strong understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC)

  • Strong process management and problem resolution skills

  • Experience in business systems and process planning

  • Knowledge of the business environment, service requirements and hospitality culture

  • Demonstrated ability to assess customer/client needs, creatively approach solutions, decide and influence appropriate courses of action.

  • Ability to understand and communicate the lifecycle of technologies and applications and to translate into business strategies for the client organizations

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical ideas in easy to understand business terms.

  • Ability to accomplish results through others, particularly by establishing relationships, effective controls and leading in a managed service environment

  • Demonstrates strong executive presence and strategic thinking skills

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

End User Experience

  • Leads efforts to develop new strategies around the ‘consumerization’ of the end user experience at Marriott International. This includes such key concepts as ‘wireless everywhere’, BYOD and wearable technology.

  • Responsible for the service design and operations of the end user experience. This includes key business processes for provisioning, device management, security and compliance, self-enablement technology and technology upgrades.

  • Key market thought leader whom leverages third party and industry insights into evolving the way in which Marriott associates engage with their work, colleagues and customers.

  • Leads the team responsible for virtualizing and moving workplace experiences to mobile infrastructure technology and cloud services.

  • Creates the strategy for unified communications and collaboration technologies including email, chat, blogging and video conferencing.

Desktop Engineering and Domain Services

  • Selects, qualifies and moves into production all technology related to desktop, mobile and mobile device infrastructure.

  • Responsible for setting the direction and strategy for desktop and end point device virtualization (VDI).

  • Responsible for designing and delivering quality and always available domain services such as Active Directory, LDAP, and other associated e-Directories.

  • Responsible for electronic messaging and collaboration services inclusive of email, chat, desktop video conferencing, file share services and SharePoint services.

  • Builds a team that will drive strategy around end user device automation, patching, configuration management and compliance. This includes the scale out and implementation of centralized management systems such as ePO, Tanium, Altiris or other device management platforms.

  • Implements and develops cloud based services in the form of IaaS, SaaS or PaaS to help develop and consumerize the end point device experience.

  • Develops standards, qualifications and methods for the integration of the desktop architecture with new applications and internet browsers.

Mobile Computing Infrastructure

  • Designs the experience and capabilities of the wireless infrastructure in conjunction with network services and mobile device management functions.

  • Responsible for developing all key infrastructure capabilities and functions for end user access and controls for remote email, SPAM, remote desktop access, and device management.

Automation and Self-Enablement/Service Design

  • Designs and implements all digital and automated processes for service and device provisioning, service enhancements and service requests.

  • Responsible for designing, sourcing and costing all end user computing service elements.

  • Works with third party suppliers and integrators on automating desktop support services and other support areas.

  • Accountable for continually improving and applying service measurement metrics and SLA’s inclusive of reporting and dashboards.

Compliance management

  • Alignment of all end user computing to Marriott security, vulnerability, and risk policies.

  • Partner closely with Global Information Security on remediating emerging threats and enabling new innovations to enhance foundational platform protections and agility.

Colorado Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $146,175 to $300,146 annually.

Hawaii Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $176,873 to $330,162 annually.

New York Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $146,174 to $330,162 annually.

Washington Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $146,175 to $330,162 annually. In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible to receive an annual bonus and restricted stock units/stock grants. Employees will accrue 0.04616 PTO balance for every hour worked and eligible to receive minimum of 7 holidays annually.
