Essential Job Duties:

The NC Health Careers Access Program at UNC Chapel Hill envisions a society with equitable access to culturally competent health care across all demographics irrespective of geographic location (urban or rural) or socioeconomic status. Our mission is to increase the number of disadvanataged students matriculating into the health professions.

The Program Assistant will have direct contact with students, both pre-college and college (primarily college). The selected candidate will serve as Advisor for the Health Careers Club (college students), plan/coordinate and assist with the facilitation of Health Careers Day “On The Hill” (college students), assist the Program Director with the recruitment/advertisement, admissions process, etc. for the Science Enrichment Preparation (S.E.P.) Program, meet with students 1:1 (advising meetings), etc. The selected candidate will also update the NC- HCAP social media site regularly (Instagram, Facebook, etc). Finally, the selected candidate will help with branding NC- HCAP to ensure students, Faculty and Staff on the UNC Chapel Hill campus are aware of the CHEOP Office and its services. The selected candidate will connect with campus partners to spread the word about NC- HCAP programs and services.

Required Qualifications:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Experience with Zoom or other video conferencing platforms

Strong organizational and multitasking skills

Excellent written and verbal communication abilities

Ability to engage and interact in a respectful and professional manner

Attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks
