Siemens Energy Technical Sales Manager - Syncons in Raleigh, North Carolina

Location: Raleigh, NC

A Snapshot of Your Day

As a successful candidate, you will engage daily with internal teams in the US and Germany. Your interaction with allocated customers and regions will be on an as-needed basis. You will lead and guide the proposal team in preparing proposals and play a crucial role in the approval process for each proposal. Your primary focus will be on Synchronous Condenser projects in North America. Reporting directly to the US head of technical sales, you will work closely with the overall FACTS sales lead and the Synchronous Condenser technical sales lead. You will also coordinate with other SE teams, including engineering, tender, PM, procurement, and more, to ensure organizational success on syncon projects.

How You’ll Make an Impact

Business Development:

  • Own the development of strategies for profitable penetration into new or existing market segments.

  • Develop and execute account plans to achieve assigned business goals.

  • Make technical presentations to key customers as required.

  • Guide business development within assigned key accounts and/or markets.

  • Develop sponsorship with key decision-makers.

Proposals:

  • Own the internal process for proposals, driving both the technical solution and the final price.

  • Oversee the LoA internal approval process for each proposal.

  • Present proposals at customer meetings.

  • Lead the negotiation phase of proposals, ensuring adaptability in Siemens Energy’s contracts.

  • Support the tender manager in handing over the project to the project team once awarded.

What You Bring

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with 5+ years of successful business development or sales experience in one of the following fields:

  • Synchronous condenser

  • Power generation sales (e.g., FACTS)

  • Rotating power plant equipment

  • Proven business insight in balancing customer and business requirements, including financials, strategic, and tactical thinking.

  • Executive-level verbal and written communication and presentation skills.

  • Willingness to travel up to 30%, both domestically and occasionally internationally.

  • Candidate preferred to be either located or willing to relocate to the Raleigh, NC area

  • Legal authorization for employment in the United States without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
