SUMMARY:
Unique opportunity for a leadership position that has responsibilities in both broking and claims.
This hybrid position affords the right candidate the opportunity to be a part of the development of the ProEx South Region’s Professional Liability vertical while also supporting the South on claims within all ProEx lines of business.
As a broker, you will be responsible for building and developing an industry leading portfolio of Professional Liability clients by cultivating in house client and colleague relationships, developing a comprehensive service proposition for clients, managing deep insurer relationships and developing strong sales and cross-sell capability for Professional Liability insurance products. These products include Architects & Engineers, Lawyers Professional, Accountants and other licensed professionals. The position does not include Medical Professionals currently. Medical Professionals may fall under the management of the SVP of Professional Lines as the vertical develops.

As a Claims Advocate, you will partner with the Claims Department in a client-facing role. The successful candidate will apply their experience in providing interpretation of policy language, coverage analysis, advocacy, coverage and dispute resolution, act as liaison between clients, adjusters, lawyers and insurance companies, claims management and other related client services. A successful candidate will have experience handling all professional and executive liability claims. The Claims Department's mandate is to deliver claims consulting services to clients, and advocate for our clients in resolving any issues relating to their loss, i.e., coverage disputes, policy interpretation, settlement disputes, etc.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Claims advocate and facilitator on behalf of client
Consult with clients on claim issues involving Directors & Officers, Errors & Omissions, Employment Practices, Cyber, Fidelity, Professional Liability and Fiduciary coverages
Review and recommend solutions to coverage, quantum and claim handling management issues
Negotiate with insurers, adjusters and lawyers to expedite and obtain fair settlement of claims
Participate in sales presentations to prospective clients
Develop thought leadership to be shared within the South and the greater ProEx team
Assist the client in preparing special claims servicing instructions focusing on the client’s specific needs and taking into consideration the structure of their insurance programs
Review and comment on policy wordings for account teams
Review of claims with clients/insurers/loss adjusters regularly
Effectively marketing Professional Liability coverages to our current book of retail clients and to work with HUB producers to cultivate new customers
Responsible for team’s effective development of relationships with current HUB Commercial Lines service leaders and producers to become their professional resource for all things Professional Liability
Evaluate and identifying Professional Liability exposures
Negotiate terms and conditions of the insurance contracts with the carriers
Develop a creative and customized insurance program to protect the insured
Develop a presentation style for solutions for the agent/insured
Maintain new business growth via production goals
Grow and develop your team including the management of a Talent Board and performance initiatives
Perform other duties as assigned
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Post-secondary education (J.D. required)
Holds or commits to obtain appropriate license within probationary period
Knowledge and/or experience with professional and management liability lines of insurance coverage with detailed understanding of the following coverages: Directors & Officers, Errors & Omissions, Employment Practices, Cyber, Fidelity, and Fiduciary Liability
Possesses excellent knowledge of coverage and analytical skills in policy interpretation
Aware of relevant insurance legislation and major insurance-related court decisions
Prior experience in claims consultation with larger risk accounts
Strong communication skills - both verbal & written, as well as effective time management and organizational practices
Results-oriented with strong client service emphasis and focus
Excellent interpersonal and strong negotiating skills
Department Account Management & Service
Required Experience: 10-15 years of relevant experience
Required Travel: Up to 25%
Required Education: Bachelor's degree (4-year degree)
