Eaton Corporation Senior Software Engineer in Raleigh, North Carolina
Eaton’s Digital Office is currently seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Brightlayer Industrial team! This position can be based at our Moon Township PA, Raleigh NC, Cleveland OH, Menomonee Falls WI, or Southfield MI facility.
In this role, you will participate in expanding the portfolio of available monitoring solutions of our industrial monitoring and management products for industrial customers, as well as our global BrightLayer® Digital platform. Solid software development skills and the ability to analyze and troubleshoot software issues are key to these initiatives. In this role you will:
Be a key contributor to the success of the EATON Brightlayer Industrial monitoring platform.
Work with Solutions Architects and Application Engineers to understand customer requirements and solution deployment
Develop and troubleshoot software to integrate sensors and actuating devices in the EATON Brightlayer Industrial monitoring application.
Validate device integration into the IoT platform and, when needed, at customer sites
Assist field services personnel to resolve device integration issues pertaining to connectivity, data processing and setup.

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Electrical, Computer or Software Engineering from an accredited institution.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in the software industry developing software applications on embedded devices
Experience with embedded device communication protocols (Modbus, BACnet, etc.)
No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Moon Township PA, Raleigh NC, Cleveland OH, Mnomonee Falls WI or Southfield MI will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future
Experience utilizing best practices in software engineering
Experience with Agile development methodologies and concepts
Experience developing and deploying IoT monitoring solutions
Experience working with service organizations to resolve, deliver and document product issues
Teamwork, communication, strong interpersonal skills across cultural and organizational boundaries
Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to effectively explain technical concepts
Good judgment, time management, and decision-making skills
Thorough understanding of software design principles, algorithms, data structures, and multithreading concepts
Solid understanding of networking and communication concepts
Strong problem solving and software debugging skills
