Kimley-Horn Senior Financial Reporting Analyst in Raleigh, North Carolina

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed analysis of financial results, explaining variances and trends, and provide financial insights to help management make informed decisions.

  • Apply accounting principles to analyze financial data, record and reconcile transactions, and assist in the preparation of financial reports.

  • Research proper accounting treatment in accordance with GAAP, as needed.

  • Collaborate with other finance and functional teams to perform expense reviews and forecast annual operating spend.

  • Prepare for and support the annual business planning process, including operating and capital plans.

  • Lead the year-end review which includes the preparation of external financial statements and cash flows, consolidating entries, and financial workpapers.

  • Ensure successful implementation of new accounting standards, as necessary.

  • Perform ad hoc projects as requested.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field

  • CPA certification

  • 4+ years of relevant financial reporting, accounting, or finance experience, preferably with experience in Public Accounting

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

  • Strong understanding of US GAAP

  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills combined with an ability to interpret data, draw conclusions, and make recommendations

  • High degree of professionalism and the ability to work with employees at all levels of the organization from new hires to senior executives

  • Exceptional client service mentality and strong work ethic

  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills

  • Must be an excellent team player as well as work independently
