The Senior Accountant will act as integral part of Regional Accounting Team in performing transactional and general ledger month end close activities, coordinating with the Business Support Center (shared services), ensuring SOX controls are completed, and overseeing the audit process.

Responsibilities & Requirements: Primary owner of general accounting and month end activities for the Raleigh plant, collaborating with and supporting accounting team members, cross-functional groups on site, and the Business Support Center.
Focus on process and efficiency improvements, identifying and escalating issues and bottlenecks
Ensure accounting and reporting activities are completed timely and in accordance with company policies (US GAAP)
Ensure SOX compliant processes and controls
Supervise and reconcile the assigned key accounts, offering proactive support and service about all the specific and usual requests of the work team
Analyze account balances and activity to ensure appropriate measures are taken to produce accurate accounting records with proper classification and reporting.
Supplemental disclosure reporting
Regularly and proactively organize calls with internal and external auditors (conferences) to verify the execution of the procedures and establish measures to maintain and improve the excellence of the records
Organize and coordinate the internal and external audit deliverables to comply on time with all their requirements.
Work closely with BSC (Business Services Center) to ensure accurate transacting and reporting
Support and provide value-added insight during implementation of SAP throughout the business requirements, data migration, and conversion processes
Support plant- and company-wide initiatives related to shortening the close process, efficiency KPIs, rework, backlog reduction, etc.
Work cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Planning, Project Management, and Engineering to complete all job responsibilities on a timely basis
Organize and coordinate the internal and external audit deliverables to comply on time with all of their requirements.
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
8+ years of experience in general accounting within an industrial manufacturing environment
Good interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills; ability to multi-task and work independently
Intermediate to advanced Excel spreadsheet skills required
Must be a team player, who is committed to company and individual performance targets
Must be a self-starter and willing to ask questions when unsure
Experience with CIP (Continuous Improvement Process) and able to work on cross-functional teams with minimal supervision
Works independently, able to ensure tight corporate reporting deadline adherence; able to effectively communicate findings and concerns to management
Experience in some combination of technical accounting Strong technical accounting and research skills
Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills; ability to apply judgement and operate effectively in a decentralized, unstructured and dynamic environment
Attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to package and present complex information in an effective and efficient manner
Preferred Experience / Skills:
Advanced degree (MBA) or CPA preferred
Experience with a large ERP system (SAP) GL preferred.
Familiarity with BPC (Business Processing Center) is a plus
Experience with Blackline Reconciliations module and Tasks module also a plus
