The Team: Cloud Engineering

Our Cloud Engineering team focuses on enabling our client's end-to-end journey from On-Premise to Cloud, with opportunities in the areas of: Cloud Strategy, Op Model Transformation, Cloud Development, Cloud Integration & APIs, Cloud Migration, Cloud Infrastructure & Engineering, and Cloud Managed Services. We help our clients see the transformational capabilities of Cloud as an opportunity for business enablement and competitive advantage.

Cloud Engineering supports our clients as they improve agility and resilience, and identifies opportunities to reduce IT operations spend through automation by enabling Cloud. We accelerate our clients towards a technology-driven future, leveraging vendor solutions and Deloitte-developed software products, tools, and accelerators.

Work you'll do

We are seeking a Cloud Architect with extensive Kubernetes, Container, DevSecOps and AWS Cloud experience. You will be responsible for architecting solutions for deployment and configuration of the clients AWS Cloud solution at scale. To be successful in the client's dynamic and fast-paced environment you should be self-driven and able to adopt to fast moving environment. The location for this role will be primarily virtual.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert to the organization for cloud end-to-end AWS architecture, networking, provisioning, and management

  • Lead a multi-discipline team of cloud engineers across their respective domains

  • Collaborate with other technical groups such as Information Security, Operations, etc. to ensure architectures and designs meet applicable standards

  • Contribute to DevOps development activities and complex development tasks as required

  • Coordinate with team working on different layers of infrastructure and design

  • Produce project technical artifacts as required to fully document solution designs

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Demonstrated experience in optimizing computing performance and measurement.

  • Experience in the Administration and Implementation of both Unix and Linux operating systems (RedHat/Oracle) as well as Terraform and Ansible scripting

  • Experience working with all major ITIL processes, including Change Management, Service Request, etc. required

  • Experience with CI/CD toolsets including version control systems (preferably Git), development and maintenance of Jenkins pipelines

  • Experience with IT industry best-practices related to infrastructure management and administration required

  • Experience building serverless applications on AWS

  • Experience building and deploying applications as Docker containers on AWS ECS

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university.

  • Possessing and maintaining a Secret Clearance is required for this role.

  • 5+ years' experience engineering in the AWS Cloud.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

  • Preferred:

  • Experience with VPC, AZs, Subnets, Route53, CloudWatch, ALB/NLB, Security Groups, EKS, and EC2.

  • Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems and Docker/Kubernetes constructs.

  • Strong developer mindset with experience with CloudFormation, Terraform, Ansible, YAML, and JSON.

  • Strong knowledge with Git, GitLab, and Jenkins pipeline development.

  • Production experience running Kubernetes workloads ideally on AWS EKS.

  • Experience architecting solutions on the AWS cloud.

  • CKAD or CKA Certification.

  • AWS Solutions Architect or DevOps Certification
