Eaton Corporation Automation and Industry 4.0 Engineer in Raleigh, North Carolina

Eaton’s Electrcial division is currently seeking an Advanced Automation and Industry 4.0 Engineer. This role will be based in Raleigh, NC.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $80,250 - $117,700 a year.

What you’ll do:

Experienced subject matter expert within the engineering function, specializing in Industry 4.0 development activities for the Raleigh NC plant. Functionally responsible for the development and implementation of new technologies in alignment with Eaton’s Industry 4.0 / smart factory initiative. Provide technical guidance for on-floor I4.0 process implementation, troubleshooting, and training. Ensure alignment to all customer, industry, and internal requirements linked to I4.0 within the Raleigh, NC Plant as needed.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Create and/or optimize manufacturing automation, advanced manufacturing processes, improvement of processes and equipment/automation, innovation, and new product launches (with accountability to insure DFA/DFM and assembly robustness in all phases.)

• Manage portfolio of automation projects

• Manage process flows from inception to phase out, including product launch and support; and resolves problems with existing products working across cross-functional production teams.

• Support of I4.0 timelines, goals, and related metrics.

• Lead discussions with internal customers or suppliers focused on I4.0 initiatives

• Benchmark best practices across Eaton sites and share lessons learned through the plant.

• Strong communication and presentation skills, able to support / lead discussion as needed for I4.0 discussions.

• Collect and analyze manufacturing data and metrics, incorporate findings into I4.0 equipment in effort to reduced defective material and process stop occurrences. Resolve issues with long term permanent solutions.

• Continue to enhance current I4.0 solutions in the plant while looking for new solutions to implement.

• Support for PCAT tool and cable scanner implementation

• Partner with cross functional teams to implement solution for process efficiencies.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution

  • Minimum 3 years of engineering or manufacturing experience

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or industrial engineering

  • Experience with I4.0, machine design, process data analytics preferred.

  • Previous lean and/or six sigma certification, with demonstrated results preferred

  • Experience in high mix/low volume manufacturing environment preferred.

  • Experienced communication and presentation skills – Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization from production associates to corporate leaders.
