The
Audio Visual Technicianprovides production support for Convention Center and Performing Arts Center events, which includes designing, implementing, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining moderately to highly complex AV technologies. With several hundred events held each year, work is performed on an as-needed basis, dependent upon client requirements and the schedule of events. The position requires flexibility in scheduling, including the ability to work a variety of shifts, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays based on event schedules and operational needs.
Candidates must be willing to adapt to changing schedules as necessary.
About you:
The selected candidate will gain real-world, hands-on experience in supporting audio visual needs in a fast-paced, dynamic convention and entertainment venue. The ideal candidate has a background and solid understanding of AV technology and needs. A basic working knowledge and understanding of electrical circuits and standard electrical wiring also is needed, as well as knowledge of TCP/IP and the network stack and the proper use and function of hand and power tools.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Install needed equipment required for the success of event productions

``` - Consult with clients to assure they have the proper equipment for the success of their events - Perform routine, proactive maintenance on equipment to prevent equipment failures - Review and edit work orders to supply the proper equipment - Diagnose network and hardware issues, 1st tier helpdesk support, and support a - knowledge base for AV systems with IT integrations (processors, AV laptops and software, etc) - Change and set up AV equipment between rooms and events in accordance with clients needs
Typical Qualifications
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED along with at least 6 months of training or experience using audio visual technology in an event setting.
