Merck Associate Director, COSI AH Intercompany Profit in Rahway, New Jersey

Job Description

In this role, the COSI Animal Health Above Market Associate Director is expected to consolidate global sales, costs sales and eliminate intercompany profit to ensure global P&L and inventory accounts are properly stated. This role will work directly with global costing teams to understand drivers impacting inventory, Sales & COGS accounts. In addition, this candidate will partner with our Animal Health Manufacturing Division and Corporate will be responsible for the following:

  • Manage the above market monthly close activities which include the tracking and elimination of intercompany profit in inventory, by product and on a consolidated level.

  • Oversight of product level reviews to ensure intercompany profit is appropriate and partner with costing team to understand any major drivers/changes.

  • Perform product level and consolidated PGM analysis to ensure intercompany profit realized is appropriate and in line with expectations.

  • Partner with Animal Health to understand major drivers in product level PGM analysis.

  • Manage and supervise the appropriate recording of the Intercompany Profit Elimination to ensure inventory is appropriately stated.

  • Supervise the Inter-company profit reconciliation and resolve any significant differences on a timely basis. This will requires partnering with our Global Costings to understand differences and ensure timely resolution.

  • Maintain strong internal controls over respective Above Market Processes.

  • Provide guidance to local markets/Manufacturing Division/Animal Health Division on questions related to their actual results.

  • Approve above market journals to support the month end close.

  • Oversight of one P3 Senior Specialist and all related above market functions for Animal Health.

  • Coach and develop senior specialist to ensure consistent transfer of knowledge.

  • In addition to the responsibilities outlined above, this position will work closely with the COSI Director to identify process improvements and help improve visibility into P&L results when questions come to COSI from local markets and corporate.

Education:

  • BS/BA is required

  • BS in Accounting preferred

  • CPA preferred

Required:

  • 5+ years accounting/finance experience

  • Ability to confidently and effectively interact with senior leaders and stakeholders to assess and understand business requirements, communicate project plans and status, and effectively interact as a leader on projects with global implications

  • Excellent communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills required along with demonstrated experience working with global and cross-functional teams

  • Engages customers and stakeholders and demonstrates knowledge and awareness of their needs/expectation

  • Comply with and complete SOX 404 requirements

Preferred:

  • Strong analytical skills, detail oriented, effective communication and interpersonal skills, ability to build effective working relationships across functions, willingness and capability to gather data and understand the desired outcomes cross functionally, ability to influence decision making, project management skills and results oriented.

  • Experience working in SAP and/or HFM.

U.S. Hybrid Work Model

Expected US salary range:

$114,700.00 - $180,500.00
