CITY OF RAEFORD Accounting Specialist in Raeford, North Carolina
Compute, classify, and record numerical data to keep financial records complete. Perform any combination of routine calculating, posting, and verifying duties to obtain primary financial data for use in maintaining accounting records. May also check the accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings pertaining to business transactions recorded by other workers.
An employee in this class is responsible for a variety of paraprofessional accounting tasks including handling accounts payable, payroll, accounts receivable, purchasing, and performing related fiscal duties. Work includes creating a variety of financial reports and presentations, preparation of various records and reports, backing up other staff, and related accounting duties. Work is performed in an office setting and requires accuracy, office technology skills and paraprofessional accounting knowledge. Work is performed under regular supervision and is evaluated through observation, conferences, review of work, and audit of the records by an external auditor.
