Job Summary:

Under the leadership of the Quality Supervisor, the primary role of the Quality Lead is the development and mentorship of the Quality Assurance team. Develop and administer internal and external regulations, protocols, and policies. Ensure products flow the process start to finish while confirming all parts processed at each stage of operations adhere to Engineering/Quality expectations. Ensures manufactured product meets or exceeds customer expectations. The candidate must be considered actively engaged and embrace United Alloy’s Character and Culture vision.

Shift: Mid Shift – 7:00am – 5:00pm; Monday - Thursday. Mandatory overtime on Fridays when needed, voluntary overtime on Saturday when needed.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Lead, mentor team members and understand all roles in the Quality department – Auditors, Quality Tech’s, Calibration Tech’s and Final Inspector Roles.

  • Ability to create/modify new or existing forms, instructions, and procedures as needed.

  • Ensure required checks are being completed to the customer and/or UA requirements.

  • Participate in cost control/process improvement teams as Quality Subject Matter Expert.

  • Identify and disposition non-conforming product.

  • Assist in gage calibration, quality inventory, and tooling as needed.

  • Verify proper record retention.

  • Assists in the plant wide communication of quality alerts/concerns.

  • Assists with quality meetings/huddles.

  • Has the authority to stop production when nonconforming product is detected.

  • Other duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required, associate’s degree or higher preferred.

  • 20/20 vision in at least one eye and must not be color blind required.

    (Magnifying lenses (readers, cheaters, etc..) are allowed if the employee normally uses them to read)
  • 5+ years of experience in a related Quality Function.

  • Former lead or supervisory experience preferred.

  • Functional experience and use of measurement equipment (Tape measure, Caliper, Protractor, etc.)

  • Experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs)

  • The individual must have a solid understanding of metal fabrication concepts and processes.

  • The individual must possess a keen sense of attention to detail.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, 2D, and 3D modeling.

  • Experience with Microsoft suite (Excel, Word, etc..).
