JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Director of Patient Financial Services, the Patient Collections Manager is responsible for organizing, planning, and monitoring daily operations in collection of patient’s accounts for hospital based and clinic-based facilities. The Patient Collections Manager will be responsible for identifying and implementing strategies to improve processes, promote operational efficiency enhance the patient experience, and meet regulatory compliance guidelines. This requires active engagement and collaboration with operational leaders and staff. The Patient Collection Manager will work closely with the other leaders and staff to align policies and processes across the entire health system.
The position must have the ability to provide vision, leadership, and operational oversight for self-pay collections, financial assistance, bad debt and payment programs for the organization. They must have the ability to organize functions through establishing clear accountabilities, delegation of duties and appropriate departmentalization without creating silos.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Training/Experience:
REQUIRED:
B.S. Degree Finance, Accounting or 5 years or more Healthcare revenue cycle experience may substitute for bachelor’s degree.
Stellar oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Experience with healthcare billing system solutions and Microsoft Office.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to meet multiple deadlines.
Strong Analytical/Problem Solving skills required.
Must have ability to manage multiple and competing priorities.
The successful applicant will demonstrate an ability to work well with other professionals with minimal supervision
