Job Description

What will you do?

Lead the Record to Report (RtR) team, responsible for ensuring compliance and accuracy, driving operational performance, and providing strategic guidance and direction.

Oversee operations, including US GAAP reporting, intercompany transactions and cash accounting activities

Develop and lead a high-performing team in an expanding accounting organization ensuring the successful execution of RtR processes and related accounting functions

Design and implement ways to transform, streamline and simplify the operation

Act as a Business Partner to the Global Thermo Fisher Scientific Finance organization and other business customers.

Play a key role in the transformation of the financial processes and enhancing the value to our customers

Understand the functionality, interfaces and interdependencies of Thermo Fisher Scientific’s financial processes and systems and ensuring the existence of adequate internal controls where required.

Find opportunities for continuous process improvement and propose innovative solutions to drive efficiency and meet our productivity targets

Supervise the implementation of complex projects and issue resolution. Work collaboratively with customers to complete approved projects.

Support the Internal and External audits and SOX compliance

How will you get here?

  • Proven leadership experience in managing Record to Report (RtR) functions within a large organization.

  • Advanced degree and Professional Qualification in accounting or finance with in-depth knowledge and understanding of the Income Statement and Balance Sheet

  • Strong relevant work experience in a finance role with hands-on experience in providing financial analysis and important metric leadership to drive key business decisions

  • Demonstrated ability to manage and lead teams, with experience overseeing finance operations and projects.

  • Strong communication skills with ability to work with key members of the corporate executive team and the finance leadership team

  • Strong eye for business and ability to drive process implementation in an ambiguous environment

  • Ability to make assumptions, identify trends, incorporate external and internal information, and effectively benchmark results against appropriate baselines

  • Willingness to dive into details to find answers and solve problems when needed

  • Track record of developing relevant relationships at all levels within an organization – at both the business unit and divisional level.

  • Can operate effectively in a matrix reporting structure.

  • High level of energy; can bring a passion to excel. Able to energize and influence a wide spectrum of people, including senior financial and operational professionals.
