Primary purpose of the position:

The Strategic Buyer is responsible for ensuring that goods and services are procured as necessary to ensure supply for the organization and is also responsible for the strategic management of some categories. This role will be involved in PO lifecycle management activities and serve as a subject matter expert and a point of contact for questions and issues relating to the buying processes for the stakeholders in their location.

For select categories, this role will develop the detailed category management strategy, identify opportunities, own the category strategy implementation and execution activities, define the annual goals, and will be the primary owner of the management of the supplier relationship process, including assessing and evaluating suppliers, contributing to performance reviews and working with suppliers to resolve price, quality, or delivery issues.

This Strategic Buyer specific responsibilities include: ITS, Professional Services, Travel and Staff Augmentation.

Essential Responsible Areas:

• Provides buying support for Category Management teams and production plants to ensure that goods and services are procured for the organization.

• Review incoming purchase requisitions to ensure that the necessary documentation, specifications, attachments, etc., are included and conduct and necessary follow ups.

• Where necessary, complete and enter purchase orders into ERP systems and ensure that the process for approval is complete and accurate.

• Develops a view of the balance between supply and demand and actively monitors market conditions on an ongoing basis in order to make informed decisions.

• Leads the performance management process for select suppliers, including regular business reviews and working with them to resolve price, quality, or delivery issues.

• Proactively reports progress against regional sourcing goals/for the specified period

• Serve as a resource for routine questions and issues relating to buying for stakeholders

Position Requirement & competencies:

Bachelors degree, advanced certification (e.g., MBA, CPM, CPSM, CPSC, PMP) preferred

A minimum of three (3) years of progressively increasing responsibility in Sourcing, Category Management, Supply Chain Management, or business-related operations in a global environment.

Skills

• Solid understanding of category management, strategic sourcing, and supplier relationship management principles and application

• Financial analytical skills and experience in enhancing value through negotiations

• Good understanding of the procure-to-pay process and procurement-related policies, procedures, processes and risks, and the ability to apply that understanding to daily work

• Ability to complete routine procurement transactions effectively, efficiently and accurately from requisition to purchase order close in a fast-paced environment

• Proficiency in creating and manipulating basic spreadsheets and creating Word documents

• Good interpersonal and organization skills with strong attention to detail

• Solid judgment with ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing circumstances

• Demonstrated ability to work independently to meet deadlines

• Effective oral and written communication skills

• Ability to deal with change and ambiguity effectively

• Ability to prioritize, organize, and multitask in a flexible, fast-paced and challenging environment

• Skilled in using Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint; working knowledge of Procurement and Supply Chain Management ERP software a plus

Knowledge:

• Knowledge of current principles, practices, and methods pertaining to procurement

• Knowledge of negotiation tactics

• Knowledge of ERP systems

REMUNERACIN ECONOMICA: 39,000 - 50,000 MXN brutos + prestaciones superiores.
