Student Career Program Manager - Business Careers
POSITION DETAILS
Reporting to the Associate Dean of the School of Business, the Student Career Program Manager for Business Careers is responsible for developing and expanding career opportunities in accounting, economics, finance, and other business-related fields for Queens College students and recent graduates. This is an entrepreneurial role for a self-starter.
Job duties for this position include but are not limited to:
Develop, expand, and curate a network of industry employer partners to increase the paid internship and competitive job opportunities in business-related fields for QC students and recent graduates.
Serve as a bridge between industry representatives, senior alumni, and faculty members to support curriculum revisions and co-curricular activities to ensure career readiness of the students in the school of business.
Coordinate and supervise the internship and job placement of students in business, finance, accounting, and related fields. Work with students 1:1 and in small groups to facilitate job placement.
Plan and coordinate several on-campus career events (fairs, competitions, workshops, networking), and promote diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) recruitment programs.
Develop metrics of student career success. Track placement outcomes of every graduate meticulously, and meet key metrics related to students’ professional outcomes, including, but not limited to, the number of competitive paid internships, internship conversions to full-time positions, salary outcomes long and short term.
Find innovative ways to engage and support our alums on the job search, including, but not limited to, group coaching, alumni events, etc.
Seek and apply for external funding for business career readiness initiatives.
Collaborate with academic programs and Queens College’s Center for Career Engagement and Internships to develop comprehensive student career development.
Represent the School of Business at regional and local professional meetings and conferences.
Create a unique strategic vision and brand awareness that will advance the career services mission for the school of business
Demonstrate a strong commitment and interest in providing guidance, learning modules and tools to students engaged in designing their career and life after graduation.
Provide strategic leadership and facilitation of Career Communities, which may include Data Science, Technology, FinTech, Accounting, Financial Services, Management, Sales, Consulting, Finance to help students explore and connect with industry interest areas and leverage the connections for opportunities.
Develop relevant educational content to support Career Community goals and scale career education for students and alumni.
Collaborate with faculty/staff influencers and campus partner across all major schools and departments to co-create and deliver career design content and programming.
Develop programs to ensure successful entry and progression in the field.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree and six years' related experience required.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree is preferred.
The strong candidate will have experience working for business-related industries, recruitment, HR, business career coaching/counseling/readiness, or related experience.
Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously and take ownership of tasks.
Possess a network of industry partners in business and related fields.
Track-record as a diligent, organized, self-starter who can adapt to change as needed.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; and a passion for mentoring others to succeed.

Develops and manages career development programs and services in a College of Unit and assumes a leadership role in the design and delivery of creative approaches to career education and planning.
Assists in unit planning, such as setting goals and objectives, and monitors status of progress toward meeting goals
Designs and produces outcomes assessment reports; reviews outcomes and feedback and recommends strategies to expand and improve services.
Directs a portfolio of targeted career programs, such as mentoring, internship, and alumni programs
Manages one or more aspects of career office operations, such as on-campus recruiting
Evaluates new technologies, assessment materials, and other career tools, makes recommendations, and acquires/implements them
May counsel a limited number of students
Performs related duties as assigned.

Salary commensurate with education and experience.
