Actalent Medical Technologist in Queens, New York

A top hospital in NYC is seeking Medical Technologists & Lead Medical Technologists to join their team in NYC! This is an excellent opportunity for growth with one of the largest community based blood centers in the world, and is one of the few companies that still offer an attractive pension plan, as well as paid vacation and sick days, in addition to company holidays!

Job Description:

  • Candidate must have a NY State Medical Technologist license or Medical Laboratory Science degree.

  • Hematology Testing

  • Perform routine CBC, Platelet Concentrate Quality control, Nageotte Procedure for counting WBC

  • pH testing of Platelets, and processing and examination of peripheral blood smears

  • Microbiology Testing

  • SDP Bacterial Impurities Alert

  • Paid Vacation, Holiday, & Sick time

  • Shift's available:

  • 12pm - 8pm, Tuesday - Saturday

  • 6am - 2pm, Tuesday - Saturday

  • 2pm - 12pm, Sunday - Wednesday (4x 10 hour days)

  • Bachelors/Masters Degree in Medical Laboratory Science

  • NYS Medical Technologist license

  • ASCP Certification

  • 2-4 years experience in Hematology, microbiology and Blood Bank preferred

  • Knowledge and understanding of immunohematology, hematology and medical terminology
