New York Edge Compliance Specialist (Part-Time) in Queens, New York

Summary:

New York Edge seeks a highly organized and detail-oriented person to fill the role of Compliance Specialist. In this part-time role, you will be responsible for handling various day to day pre-employment related operations within the New York Edge compliance department including communicating with staff and management regarding the process of required background checks for potential employees. The compliance specialist must be an individual who is trustworthy and can keep confidential information.

Pay:

$23-25 per hour

Schedule:

Monday-Friday, up to 25 hours per week

Essential Job Functions:

  • Complete employment background checks adhering to City, State and Federal contract and licensing requirements

  • Serve as the main point of contact during the background check process to candidates providing high levels of customer support and follow up with candidates and external agencies

  • Update individual candidate tracker systems and report out to candidates and management as needed

  • Maintain organized electronic and hard-copy filing systems

  • Meet with new or returning employees to collect and review compliance paperwork ensuring complete and accurate submissions during assigned office hours and as needed

  • Conduct periodic site compliance file audits as assigned

  • Additional duties as assigned

    Education Requirement:

  • Must have a HS Diploma or Equivalent. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Experience Requirements:

  • At least one (1) year of experience in Human Resources, Administrative, or related field.

    Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to exhibit a high degree of confidentiality

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Demonstrated proficiency in organizing and managing multiple projects

  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

  • Proficient with Google applications and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)

    Work Environment & Physical Demands:

  • Work is performed mostly within an office setting and is required to interact face-to-face with potential employees.

  • May be required to walk up and down stairs, lift or move objects/materials as needed.

  • Work hours will be consistent Monday through Friday during regular business hours.

    At time of offer and acceptance, the job requires safety and security clearances through the Department of Education and Department of Health.
