Plant Reliability Engineer

Position Description

Job Summary

The Reliability Engineer is responsible for process and equipment reliability in the plant. This role is pivotal in ensuring the robustness and optimal performance of our manufacturing processes and equipment. The Reliability Engineer is responsible for implementing reliability engineering principles, conducting analyses, and developing strategies to enhance the dependability of our processes and equipment.

Responsibilities:

1.Safety and Culture:

•Ensure that reliability enhancements align with and contribute to overall safety objectives.

•Promote a strong safety culture by actively participating in safety initiatives and communicating the importance of safe practices.

2.Reliability Analysis for Processes and Equipment:

•Conduct thorough reliability analyses for manufacturing processes and equipment to identify potential failure modes and their impact.

•Utilize statistical methods and reliability modeling tools to predict and improve the performance of processes and equipment.

3.Failure Mode and Effects Analysis for Processes and Equipment:

•Lead FMEA activities to proactively identify failure modes, assess their criticality, and develop mitigation strategies for manufacturing processes and equipment.

•Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement preventive and corrective actions.

4.Root Cause Analysis for Process and Equipment Failures:

•Investigate and determine root causes of process and equipment failures, implementing effective solutions.

•Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of failure analysis reports for continuous improvement.

5.Design for Reliability in Manufacturing:

•Collaborate with process and equipment design teams to integrate reliability principles in the early stages of development.

•Provide input on modifications to enhance the reliability of manufacturing processes and equipment.

6.Testing and Validation for Process and Equipment Reliability:

•Develop and implement reliability testing protocols to validate the performance and robustness of manufacturing processes and equipment.

•Analyze test data to identify areas for improvement and optimization.

7.Maintenance Strategies for Equipment Reliability:

•Develop and optimize maintenance strategies to ensure the longevity and reliability of manufacturing equipment.

•Collaborate closely with maintenance teams to implement predictive and preventative maintenance practices.

8.Continuous Improvement for Process and Equipment Reliability:

•Develops multiyear plans to improve equipment reliability to world class levels (95%)

•Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the reliability and efficiency of manufacturing processes and equipment

•Monitor and analyze reliability data to identify trends and areas for improvement

9.Documentation/ Reporting

•Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of reliability activities, analyses, and improvements

•Prepare reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.

10.Solutions design and implementation:

•Ensure that reliability enhancements align with and contribute to overall safety objectives.

•Manages projects that support the plant in attaining safety, quality, service, and cost goals.

•Works with the team to achieve world-class performance by use of personnel, material, methods, and technical resources to optimize equipment and operational performance.

•Leads or participates in project teams focused on continuous improvement in a number of areas including Meantime Between Failure, PM Compliance, Trigger Events, Production Attainment, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), TPM and other predictive means through technology-based platforms.

Required Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Discipline (Required)

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt; SPC; Kaizen; Root Cause Analysis (Preferred)

  • OSHA Certification 30 Hour (Preferred)

Work Experience:

  • 3 Years Leadership Experience in fast paced environment (Preferred)

  • 3 Years Engineering Background (Preferred)

Practical/ Technical/Digital Knowledge

  • Experience with RCA, FMEA, and DFR methodologies (Required)

  • Strong knowledge of reliability engineering principles, statistical analysis, and modeling tools (Required)

  • Familiarity with reliability testing and validation protocols for process and equipment (Required)

  • Excellent problem- solving and analytical skills (Required)

  • Advanced Computer Skills (Required)

  • MS Office (Required)

  • Processing, Engineering, Project Management Skills (WCM, Six Sigma, Kaizen, Lean, SPC) (Preferred)

Leadership & Communication Skills

  • Effective Communication (Required)

  • Public Speaking (Required)
