Veteran Security Operations (VSO) Security Officer in Puyallup, Washington

As we're actively expanding our team to meet our client's demands, VSO has multiple vacancies for our Armed, Unarmed, Patrol, and LPO Divisions.
Security Officers ensure that our clients receive comprehensive security services. Security Officers will be trained, certified, and licensed within compliance with the Washington Department of Licensing and the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission by VSO prior to their first shift.
Job Duties:
- Maintain a visual presence to deter potential suspicious activity.
- Write clear and thorough reports for clients.
- Patrol client properties for any suspicious activity, security threats, and deescalate or handle stressful situations as they arise.
- Contact law enforcement or the fire department for extreme situations.
- Reasonably detain persons suspected of criminal activity until law enforcement arrives.
- Escorts discharged staff, trespassers, and other unwelcome parties off the premises.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Be 21 years of age or older to be armed
- Possess a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Fluent in English, with effective reading and writing skills.
- Prior Military
- Prior LE
- 2+ Years of prior armed security experience
- 3+ years of unarmed security experience
- Possess a valid driver's license and be insurable.
- Must have a clean driving record & provide driving record upon hire
- Must have reliable transportation that is not the public transportation system
- Must be able to successfully complete a background check.
- Personal firearm, job offer could be contingent until proof of purchase of firearm. (Armed Division Only)
- Must provide 2 professional references at a minimum
- Pre-employment drug screening.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Valid Washington Security Guard License (armed/unarmed)
- Customer Service background
- Knowledge of Veteran Security Operations and our mission
Job Types: Full-time
Salary: Starting $20.00/hr with a potential steady increase up to $27.00/hr
