LRI, a Waste Connections Company, is currently seeking an experienced, safety-conscious Equipment Operator to join the team at LRI Landfill in Graham, WA . Previous landfill or waste experience would be a huge plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate.

The position is a day shift working Tuesday through Saturday with occasional Sundays. 40 hours a week with overtime opportunities in construction season.

Starting wage of $29.16 which is 80% for first 6 months of employment. Then 90% from month 7 to 12. Then topping out at $36.45.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operating dozer, loader, excavator, and haul truck.

• Pushing up piles of waste and debris.

• Responsible for equipment inspections.

• Assisting customers and employees as needed.

• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:

• Ability to lift, push, or pull objects over 50 pounds.

• Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.

• Ability to operate heavy equipment is recommended.

• Knowledge of basic computer skills.

• Knowledge of light and heavy equipment operation and maintenance.

• Knowledge of basic vehicle inspection and maintenance including tire pressure, checking oil and water levels.

• Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Must have a high school diploma or GED

• 2+ year’s experience related to the duties specified above.

• Valid Driver’s License

• Already be part of or the ability to join Union 612 within 30 days.

• Must have experience operating 972/980 size loaders and/or D-9 Dozers

• 1-2 years of equipment operating experience.

• Must be able to work schedule stated above.

• Ability to be self-directed as well as work in a team environment.

• Ability to work in all weather conditions.
