The global Information Technology (IT) Function is leading efforts to align IT and Business Strategy, leverage IT investments, and optimize end to end business processes and associated information integration technologies. IT also delivers Information Technology applications, infrastructure, and project services in a cost efficient manner to Corning worldwide.
JOB LOCATION: Baner Pune
SCOPE/PURPOSE OF POSITION: Automate network devices and solutions to align with Corning’s technology standards and meet the connectivity needs of our businesses.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serve as network automation subject matter expert, providing technical expertise, design skills, etc.
Support network automation solutions for routing, switching, SDWAN in Data Center and DMZ environments. For these services the candidate will be:
Collaborate across the organization to find opportunities for automation, driving operational efficiency.
Solid understanding of multi-account and multi-region network topology and routing with contribution to overall architecture including intra-DC, Inter-DC and Internet Connectivity.
Provides advanced level engineering design functions.
Provides trouble resolution and serves as point of technical escalation on complex problems.
Creates presentations and seeks IT and business management approval and acceptance of significant replacements or reconfigurations of major cloud and network technologies serving the enterprise.
Act as technical leader and provide technical guidance to fellow engineers within the organization.
Design and develop robust automated solutions, using tools such as Ansible, Python, Terraform, device APIs, GenAI and Chatbots.
Develop and maintain continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD)
Ensure automation processes adhere to industry best practices and organizational standards.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- 4-year degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience
WORK EXPERIENCE:
7+ years of experience analyzing requirements for implementing, supporting, and troubleshooting network devices/functions/tools/processes in a large enterprise or Telecommunications environment.
5+ years performing network automation deployments in large enterprise environment.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Must have an automation first mindset.
Develop custom dashboards that poll data using automation that servers the needs of Global Network Services
Develop Automation framework with CI/CD pipelines, Ansible Tower, Containers, python and other tools in AWS and also on-prem.
Develop and implement automation scripts for initial network setup (Day 0) including device provisioning and configuration for Cisco, Arista, etc.
Automate Day 1 tasks such as network device configuration, firmware updates, and security policy enforcement for Cisco, Arista, etc.
Perform API calls using Postman to read and push data to cloud orchestrator platforms.
Develop and manage configuration templates for network devices using tools such as Python, Ansible, Terraform, or similar.
Maintain version control for network configurations and automation scripts.
Implement automated configuration compliance checks and remediation processes.
Ensure network automation processes align with security policies and compliance requirements.
Implement automated security configurations and vulnerability management processes.
Conduct regular security audits and implement necessary improvements.
Collaborate with global teams to ensure implementation consistency across the entire network.
Maintain comprehensive documentation for automation processes, tools, and procedures.
Ability to work with all levels of staff within and outside of IT and outside the organization.
Excellent communications, interpersonal and influencing skills
Demonstrated track record of on time delivery within budget; ability to drive projects to successful conclusion using influencing tools.
Successfully navigate within teams across multiple initiatives, spanning various lines of business, geographic borders, time zones, and cultures
Must be willing to be on call available for after-hours support and an on-call rotation as defined by the team for any of the position responsibilities listed above.
Provide mentorship and training to team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
