Red Hat Senior Software Engineer in Pune, India

We seek a Senior Software Engineer to lead the design, development, and integration of multiple platforms with Jira as the central source of truth. This role will focus on building custom integration services, enhancing vendor functionalities, and enabling cross-platform data tracking. You will collaborate with diverse stakeholders to create solutions that improve productivity and visibility across our global engineering portfolio. Your work will directly support automation, tooling, and data insights, driving efficiency and customer success.

What will you do:

  • Design, develop, and maintain custom integration services for Jira and other platforms such as Git, Smartsheets, SFDC, Workday, Slack, and Google tools.

  • Enhance and customize vendor applications, including Atlassian products (Jira, Confluence).

  • Implement and manage integrations using REST APIs and other technologies to synchronize data across platforms.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, define solutions, and deliver tools for improved project tracking and reporting.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues, providing technical support to end-users.

  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including design, coding, testing, and deployment.

  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following industry best practices.

  • Conduct code reviews and mentor team members.

  • Stay current with industry trends and tools, applying them to improve our ecosystem.

What will you bring:

  • 3-5 years of experience in Java development with proficiency in frameworks like Spring and Hibernate.

  • Experience with Atlassian plugin development using Atlassian SDK and Java.

  • Proficiency in Python/Django, Groovy, and JavaScript for scripting and integration tasks.

  • Familiarity with REST APIs, CI/CD pipelines, and version control systems (e.g., Git).

  • Strong understanding of database technologies such as SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.

  • Experience with Platforms:

  • Jira administration, including workflows, fields, and permissions.

  • Integration of tools like GitHub, GitLab, SFDC, Smartsheets, Workday, Slack, and Google Workspace.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving mindset.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in fast-paced agile teams and independently.

  • Excellent communication skills to engage with cross-functional teams and translate business needs into technical solutions.

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver assignments on time with high quality.

Following are considered a plus:

  • Experience with full-stack design, architecture, development, and deployment.

  • Technical team leadership experience.

  • Upstream contributions to open-source projects (a plus, but not required).

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
