In this role, the Project Test Engineer will be encouraged to be the chief quality champion for the scrum team to which they are assigned. The Project Test Engineer works closely with both the development team and the product management team so that they not only understands the functionality being delivered, but also recognizes how it will be used in our customers workflows. The Project Test Engineer will design and development the testing strategy for all new functionality added to the product, which will include a combination of manual and automated tests. For manual testing, the Project Test Engineer will need a detailed understanding of our functionality so that they can ferret out issues related to adaptability, usability, and performance. For automated testing, the Project Test Engineer will need full knowledge of our testing tools and processes so that they can design tests that are used in future releases to stop regressions from being introduced into our products. This position will be reporting up through the Quality 1 Team in SDDEV Operations, which means that the focus of the Project Test Engineer’s responsibilities will be on testing the Mechanical functionality within our current Simcenter 3D/Nastran/Zel-X/etc. Products, as well as any of our future next generation products. Nevertheless, the expectation for this role is that the Project Test Engineer is versatile and able to switch onto new functionality/products as our business focus requires it.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Develop testing methodologies and become a technical expert for one or more products

Review project documentation and provide guidance to the project leads as requested

Write Test Plans and Test Designs for projects, and post the documents to the project tracking repository

Design, build, & document automated & manual test cases, for both project and non-project situations

Carry out manual testing for the projects you have been assigned as well as system test events; record issues as needed; share the outcomes with your team and higher management.

Comply with the test process and Quality Control standards & enforce to project schedules

• Provide technical support to application engineers, technical documentation writers, customers, or the sales team as requested

Job Skills and Abilities Required:

Moderate level of experience using MS Windows required

Moderate level of experience using UNIX or Linux a plus !

• Ability to solve complex issues using analytical skills

Good level of written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work on multiple sophisticated projects simultaneously !

• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively

Qualification:

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Aerospace, or Computer Engineering

CAD, CAM, CAE, or PDM software experience required

Experience should be 2 to 5 years
