IBM Product Manager, Ethernet, and Network Infrastructure in Pune, India

Introduction

IBM Storage Product Management is looking for a talented product manager to lead the transformation of our AIOps management solutions. We're looking to deliver on our vision of a next generation Cloud Based Service and Support platform that will delight our customers, support teams and sales teams as we enable proactive and AI based approaches to deliver real-time full stack monitoring, proactive capacity, and performance support, while leveraging cloud and AI based technology approaches. This is a comprehensive role responsible for the product strategy, solution delivery, go-to-market execution, and sales enablement throughout all stages of the offering lifecycle. Product Managers are business owners, responsible for setting cross-discipline priorities, leading multi-functional teams, and determining offering revenue models.

As the Product Manager, you will take ownership of all offering management related activities, including close collaboration with engineering, leading cross organizational work streams, collaborating with other Storage products to drive value across the broader Storage portfolio (FlashSystem, Defender, DS8K, Ceph), and working frequently with executive management on strategic initiatives. You will be the product champion and will interact with industry analysts, partners, and customers to determine client needs, ways to increase product differentiation, and key initiatives to improve IBM's position in the market.

You will lead product/feature definition, business case development, requirements prioritization, and discussions with development to create and deliver the product roadmap and develop the overall strategy to accelerate business growth. You will also work closely with Product Marketing to develop compelling messaging and content to enable a global sales force and customer base.

Ultimately, to fulfill this responsibility, you must be able to influence the actions of a diverse cross-functional team and act as a General Manager for the scope of the business.

Your Role and Responsibilities

IBM Storage Product Management seeking an experienced Product Manager to drive the development and management of our Ethernet and Network infrastructure product portfolio. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in networking technologies, a deep understanding of market trends and customer needs, and a proven track record of successfully launching and managing products.

As the Product Manager you will develop and execute product strategy and roadmap for Ethernet and network infrastructure products, aligned with IBM Storage goals and market trends. Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify market opportunities, customer needs, and competitive threats. Define product requirements, features, and functionality based on market feedback, customer input, and business objectives. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, sales marketing, and operations to ensure successful product development, launch, and go-to-market strategies.

You will drive product lifecycle management from concept to end-of-life, including product planning, development, launch, and ongoing maintenance. Develop pricing strategies and models for Ethernet and network infrastructure products, ensuring competitiveness and profitability. Support sales and marketing teams with product positioning, messaging, and collateral development. Act as a subject matter expert for Ethernet and network infrastructure products, providing guidance and support to internal teams. You will consider factors such as customer demand, technical complexity, resource availability, and potential revenue generation. You will also work closely with Product Marketing to develop compelling messaging and content to enable a global sales force and customer base.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • English language spoken and written proficiency essential.

  • A minimum of 5 years of product management experience, with a focus on Ethernet and Network infrastructure products.

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience managing a network infrastructure offering.

  • Demonstrated experience in enterprise storage management and storage analytics.

  • Demonstrated understanding of networking technologies, protocols, and standards, including Ethernet, TCP/IP, VLANs, MPLS, etc.

  • Proven track record of successfully launching and managing products through the entire product lifecycle.

  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate market insights and customer feedback into actionable product plans.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.

  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience working with global teams and managing products for international markets is a plus.
