Manager Software Engineering

Overview

We are Regional Solutions Engineering team , a part of the Global Market Technology group within Mastercard responsible for building products targeted at key market gaps and drive new product propositions.

We are a 70+ strong team with a varied skill set across Java, Angular, Spring, Spring Boot, Tomcat, RDBMS like Oracle or PostgreSQL, iOS and Android technology stacks and operate in an agile model with cross-functional teams working on delivering business capabilities and technology advancement using the SAFe framework.

Role

We are looking at a Manager Software Engineer to provide technical and engineering leadership across architecture and design of the product as well as driving the adoption of DevOps methodologies, guide the development teams on technology best practices while cultivating a culture of innovation and collaboration. Experience in delivering enterprise level products is must.

All About You

  • Architecture and Design (25%)

  • Lead the architecture and design activities for various functional modules within the product

  • Work closely with the Product team to identify industry solutions and options to improve product capability and experience

  • Drive the adoption of the 12-factor model and domain-driven design

  • Working knowledge of Agile and SAFe framework.

  • Engineering & DevOps (55%)

  • Help teams with hands-on support

  • Own and deliver key functional and technical capabilities

  • Drive the adoption of DevOps tooling and principles - APM, CI/CD, Release Engineering

  • Cultivate a culture of innovation and collaboration.

  • Lead the definition and implementation of NFRs

  • Mentoring and Coaching (20%)

  • Guide and coach the engineers on engineering principles and and technology best practices.

  • Manage a team of software engineers with varying experience and build high performing team

Your Skills

  • Experience in building FinTech solutions - complying to DDD and 12-factor concepts

  • Expertise in solution architecture, preferably also including mobile architecture

  • Has worked as full stack developer and understands backend (Java, Spring tech stack) and frontend technologies (like Angular, Javascript).

  • Has good experience in API design, problem solving and troubleshooting mechanisms.

  • Experience in IAM and Cryptography considerations.

  • Hands-on Java and Spring developer, experience working on CI/CD and release engineering principles.

  • Should have good mentoring skills to guide junior members resolve technical issues and challenges.

  • Should be able to work closely with Architects and Product teams to plan ahead the technical roadmap and product vision.

  • Good understanding of Agile and SAFe framework, should be able to guide team to plan and prioritise stories and features during every iteration / release.

  • Good to have - Knowledge of Cloud-ready solutions, Containers, Microservices
