Title and Summary

Manager Software Engineering

Overview:

The Data & Services Technology team is looking for an experienced engineering team leader to play a critical leadership role and ultimately manage a team of FTEs and contingent workers, which will be an integral part of a product development platform. The team leader will be focused on providing PaaS solutions by identifying latest DevOps tools and technologies and partnering with other teams to plan and execute a roadmap to increase customer value, enhance security and improve product resiliency.

Role:

Play a technical leadership role in the design and implementation of new DevOps features which are industry best standards

Lead large and complex efforts to deliver scalable on-premise and cloud based solutions

Identify and address opportunities to improve product resiliency, performance, security and quality

Partner closely with TPMs and PM-Ts for better team efficiency and better stakeholder management

Hold people and teams accountable and effectively delegate responsibilities down to the team

Recruit and hire diverse talent

Provide guidance to the team members and identify career growth opportunities for them

Centered on data-driven technologies and innovation, these services include predictive analytics, data visualization and business intelligence software.

Expectations

The team lead must be qualified with below:

Have led or is leading, small to medium sized team and has knowledge of agile practices/ceremonies

Experienced with managing DevOps tools/technologies and has a solid understand of DevOps principles and best practices

Has hands-on experience working with Linux platform

Has good knowledge in containerization and associated technologies, like Docker

Has good knowledge and experience on Kubernetes and its deployments

Has good knowledge on configuration management tools like Chef and Ansible

Has good experience with automation scripts like Shell, Bash, YAML, Groovy, PowerShell etc.

Must be good at automation and configuration management, deployment, logging and monitoring practices for high availability

Has knowledge on tools like Splunk, Prometheus, PRTG or other similar logging and monitoring tools

Must be detail-oriented, proactive, has effective communication skills, both verbal and written, and strong relationship, collaborative skills and organizational skills

Good to have:

Good knowledge around networking concepts

Certifications on Cloud or other DevOps tools

Good knowledge on languages like C# or Python
