We are looking for a Cloud Engineer to help with our increasing Digital Solution operations’ workload. Answering to our Senior Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining cloud-based solutions for Stantec’s UK&I operation, in collaboration with our global cloud computing talent.

This role requires a strong understanding of cloud computing technologies, as well as experience with infrastructure, networking, and software development. Key responsibilities include:

• Working with our team and business stakeholders to design and implement cloud-based solutions to meet client and business needs.

• Monitoring and maintaining cloud infrastructure for optimal performance and security.

• Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to our regional cloud-based systems.

• Developing and maintaining infrastructure templates, using your knowledge of automated deployment of cloud infrastructure

• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful deployment and integration of cloud solutions.

• Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in cloud computing, especially with new Microsoft Azure resource types and emerging cloud solution best-practice

Some of the key skills required for our new cloud engineer include:

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, as well as the ability to work well in a team environment.

• Understanding of cloud computing technologies and services, most preferably in Microsoft Azure.

• Exposure to infrastructure maintenance, networking and information security

• Awareness of DevOps practices and tools, such as continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD), containerization, and infrastructure as code (IaC).

• Familiarity with IaC concepts, including Bicep, ARM Templates

• Familiarity with PowerShell for automation of tasks

• Awareness of diagramming apps including Draw.io / diagrams.net or Visio

Additional capabilities or attributes include:

• Familiarity of web application architecture, predominantly Python applications.

• Awareness of ISO 27001 and other information security regulated environments (CyberEssentials Plus, GDPR, Critical National Infrastructure)

• Experience of working with container technologies, including AKS, ACI/R

• Working towards, or certification in, Microsoft Azure technologies, including (but not limited to) AZ-900, AZ-104, AZ-305, etc.

• Development or working experience with Python, database technologies, Databricks

• Knowledge in other major platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) could also be applicable.
