Summary of Duties:
This is a position with responsibilities pertaining to the clinical operation of the CHS Vision Clinic. The Ophthalmic Technician ensures that our student patients receive courteous and prompt service and that their needs are met before leaving the clinic. This includes preliminary testing, assisting the optometrist and all other vision clinic staff, notification and courtesy phone calls, cleaning and maintaining ophthalmic instruments, and assisting with contact lens needs.
Required Qualifications:
• Two years of experience as an Optical Technician 1 OR equivalent education/experience.
• Experience working in a vision clinic or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated skills with computers, customer service, organization, and basic math.
• Demonstrated interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
• Experience managing multiple tasks and priorities with flexibility and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) preferred.
• Certified by the National Contact Lens Examiners (NCLE) preferred.
• Proficient in contact lens training and lens care.
• Familiar with contact lens brands and parameters.
• Experience working with the RCW (chapter 70.02) and the HIPAA of 1996, pertaining to the release of protected health information.

Monthly Salary:
$3,811 to $5,117 | Range 44 (Steps A-M) | Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with https://app.leg.wa.gov/wac/default.aspx?cite=357-28.
