Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories Human Resources Intern - Benefits in Pullman, Washington

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) is seeking a Human Resources Intern to provide support to the Benefits and Leave team. A typical day as a Human Resources Intern might include the following:

  • Providing a high level of customer service to internal customers.

  • Providing support with 401(k) Audits, Open Enrollment, maintaining SharePoint sites, processing FMLA leave requests, and submitting worker's compensation claims.

  • Modifying and updating employee and/or organizational data accurately.

  • Responding to employee and/or community inquiries, concerns and needs.

  • Cross-training with other department members to ensure seamless support of employees and their families.

  • Managing confidential files and other privileged information.

  • Following area processes and work instructions under close supervision.

  • Understanding. Creating. Simplifying.

    This job might be for you if:

  • You are a current student studying Human Resources, Business, Management or related field at an accredited institution.

  • You have proficient knowledge of MS Office.

  • You are able to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate discretion in handling sensitive information and data.

  • You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • You have strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.

  • You are able to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.

  • You are able to work cooperatively in a team environment.

  • You have background check results satisfactory to SEL.

  • You have negative drug test result(s).

    Pay Range Data

    ($16.30 - $21.00 per hour)* Our intern pay is determined based on the internship role (the work you would be doing) and your year in school (when you plan to graduate). Talk to your recruiter if you are curious about the rate for your year in school.
