Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. Associate Power Engineer in Pullman, Washington
As an Associate Power Engineer, a typical day might include the following:
- Develop an understanding of electric power systems and how to protect, monitor and control the power system.
- Become familiar with SEL's protection, monitor and control practices.
- Develop, analyze, and execute functional tests under the mentorship of experienced engineers.
- Document, analyze and communicate test results using appropriate avenue.
- Review data sheets, instruction manuals, design and testing documentation, and provide feedback to experienced engineers.
- Follow and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.
This job might be for you if:
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering or Electronic Technology or equivalent
- Working knowledge of apparatus and protective relay application at an electrical utility, industrial plant or engineering firm
- Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills
- Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
- Working knowledge of SEL products
- Experience in power system modeling using EMTP

Pay Range Data
We anticipate filling this position as an Associate Power Engineer $68,000 - $98,000. We are open to reviewing additional candidates with more or less experience and the salary range may differ if filled at a different level. Our salary ranges are determined by job, responsibility, and location. We base our starting pay offer and title on location and job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills.
