salary: $49,920 - $58,240 per year

shift: First

work hours: 7 AM - 4 PM

education: High School

Responsibilities

• Verify conformance of workpieces to specifications using squares, rulers, and measuring tapes

• Align and fit parts according to specifications using jacks, turnbuckles, wedges, drift pins, pry bars, and hammers

• Move parts into position manually or with hoists or cranes

• Position, align, fit, and weld parts to form complete units or subunits, following blueprints and layout specifications using jigs, welding torches, and hand tools

• Set up and operator fabricating machines such as brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters, grinders, and drill presses to bend, cut, form, punch, drill, or otherwise form and assemble metal components

• Erect ladders and scaffolding to fit together larger assemblies

• Preheat workpieces to make them malleable, using hand torches or furnaces

The essential functions of this role include:

• working in a smoke free environment

• wearing steel toe shoes

• working in a non-temperature controlled environment

• manual lifting up to 30lbs

• standing for 8 hours at one time

• working up to 6 hrs of overtime per week

Skills

• Fabrication (5 years of experience is preferred)

• Blueprint Reading (5 years of experience is preferred)
