Description
Basic Function: The Benefits Specialist position is responsible for directing and processing the day-to-day operations of group benefits programs, leave administration, and employee wellness initiatives.
Principle Accountabilities:

Administer the Benefits Administration lifecycle(s) (Health, FSA/HSA, Ancillary Plans, Retirement Plans, etc.) from plan(s) selection through enrollment & daily management
Assist with New Hire Orientations, providing benefit enrollment education
Conduct monthly invoice reconciliations and periodic audits
Act as primary point of contact for all employee benefit and Leave questions
Coordinate benefits open enrollment process. Review and process benefits enrollment for eligible employees
Develop communication tools to enhance understanding of the company's benefits package. Design and distribute materials for benefits orientations, open enrollment and summary plan descriptions
Point of contact for all benefits carriers, brokers, TPA, etc. for all communications required in the successful execution of the Benefits Administration lifecycle
Track COVID monitoring, testing, and employee/supervisor communication; applying ESL to timecards as necessary
Process and administer all Leave of Absence requests and disability paperwork
Manage timecards for all employees on Leave, including intermittent Leaves
Manage benefit repayment plans following Leave of Absences
Ensures the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information
Manage Employee Health program- tracking Annual Health Assessments and required vaccinations
Track Respiratory Protection Program compliance
Oversee maintenance of employee medical files
Manage Employee Wellness initiatives through program development and implementation
Track all Employee Incident Reports, maintain OHSA reporting logs
Oversee Worker’s Compensation claims
Assign and track completion of all annual inservices for the organization
Assist with audits and reporting as requested
Accept direction from management, possess the ability to work well and with compassion in stressful situations maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor
Assist with and promote all processes associated with the Coleman initiative
Promoting Patient Centered Medical Home initiatives
Other duties and responsibilities as may be requested by your supervisor or management
Requirements
Knowledge/ Education Requirements:
A. Associates Degree preferred with 1-3yrs experience in the HR or recruitment fields, High School Diploma or GED required
B. Verbal and written communication skills, office applications needed
C. Demonstrate proper judgment and decision making skills when necessary
D. Comply with the organizations code of conduct, safety rules and adheres to all company policies
E. Carry out job responsibilities in an ethical, effective and professional manner
F. Must be willing and demonstrate the ability to cooperate, work, and communicate with coworkers and supervisors
G. Must have strong analytical skills, computer proficiency with Microsoft Suite
H. Experience with HR Information Systems or Applicant Tracking Systems ideal
I. Must be keenly aware of the importance of confidentiality in all aspects of the position
Salary Description
$18.00-$20.00 Depending on Experience
