Description of Job
Administrative Solutions, Division of Human Resources (HR) exists to provide decentralized human resource services to applicants, managers, and employees who work for the Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS). Consultation services include benefit administration; compensation; employee relations; exam development; HR policy development; job analysis; job evaluation and classification; organizational development; New Employee Orientation; performance management; interpretation of CDHS HR policy, state personnel rules, state and federal employment laws; progressive discipline; records management; recruitment; responding to grievances, appeals, charges of discrimination; reorganization issues; retention; selection and selection appeals; settlement advice; strategic planning and overall HR guidance to CDHS managers, supervisors and employees.
What You'll be Doing
The lead position is partially accountable for the work product of assigned staff. Position determines standards of performance. Is responsible for assigning work, monitoring progress of and flow of work, and quality of work. Recommend and develop new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency in department and services performed, including new employee onboarding; develops and maintains handbook on policies and procedures. Evaluates reports, decisions, and results of team initiatives in relation to established goals.

Minimum Qualifications
Experience:
Five (5) years of full-time progressively responsible experience performing technical/administrative activities in a professional HR Office.
Experience should include:
- HR experience in a leadership capacity (lead, supervisor, project manager, etc.)
or
Education and Experience:
A combination of education: graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resource Management or psychology and relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned equal to five (5) years.
Substitutions
Additional appropriate education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

Conditions of Employment
The successful candidate in this position must be willing and available to submit to the following conditions:
Must be willing to submit to and able to successfully pass a criminal background check.
Must be able to independently travel to conduct customer visits.
Must be able and willing to work a Monday through Friday schedule of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and scheduled overtime if required.
Former State employees who were disciplinarily terminated or resigned in lieu of termination must (1) disclose that information on the application (2) provide an explanation why the prior termination or resignation should not disqualify the applicant from the current position, (3) provide the employee number from the applicant’s prior State employment. Absent extraordinary circumstances, prior disciplinary termination or resignation in lieu of termination and failure to provide this information will disqualify the applicant from future State employment with CDHS.
