We are currently seeking a Project Manager R&D (f/m/d) located at our site in Puch bei Hallein, Salzburg, Austria.

As Project Manager, you are the secret sauce of teams that launch outstanding products when they say they will. You will facilitate collaboration among specialists from every department involved in bringing new life sciences research products—systems and software—from idea to market. You will encourage and guide them through each phase of the product development process to do the right things the right way at the right time with the voice of the customer leading the way. You will take full advantage of the resources in the Danaher Business System toolbox and inter-OpCo network to learn from the best of the best and continually improve our processes.

What we’ll get you doing:

You will act independently and collaboratively with your team to deliver projects on time, on budget, and to the customer’s need. Some of your specific responsibilities include:

  • Schedule and lead strategic meetings to ensure alignment and progress toward project objectives and communicate effectively with upper management to foster awareness, build trust, and enhance engagement and enablement.

  • Coordinate and manage interactions between related project parties (R&D, Operations, Service & Marketing, Sourcing, IT, Commercial, etc.) to ensure seamless integration and challenge and motivate the team effectively to achieve project goals.

  • Oversee the management of Product Life Cycle development artifacts, ensuring compliance with the Molecular Devices Quality Management System (QMS) and product development processes.

  • Establish, monitor, and manage Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to track the project's progress and health and to lead the mitigation of overall project risks, with a particular focus on schedule risks.

  • Utilize project execution tools (e.g., Visual project management, daily management, lean development) and adhere to Danaher Business System (DBS) standard work practices.Lead team project meetings to gather insights and drive decision-making in all aspects of the project.

  • Understand and leverage key technologies to guide planning and ensure readiness at each project phase.

The essential requirements of the role include:

  • Success in handling technical development projects of growing complexity and size

  • PMP certification or equivalent project management certification, completed or in progress

  • Proficiency with the usual business tools and technologies including the Microsoft Office suite

  • Hunger to learn, teach and continually improve

  • Fluency in English—desired fluency in German

It would be a plus if you also possess:

  • Experience at all phases of product development projects as a core team member

  • Demonstrated strong leadership skills with the ability to manage team by influence in a matrix organization

  • Success with geographically dispersed teams
