Job Summary
Provide real-time captioning and vicarious speech for students, faculty, staff, and guests of the university.
Essential Functions
- Attend classes, meetings, and other events as assigned.
- Transcribe communication in real time for the aforementioned assignments.
- Transcribe prerecorded materials (e.g., instructor videos for classes).
Provide speech-to-text and text-to-speech communication for mutual understanding and full access.
Education and Experience
Minimum required: Graduation from high school or equivalent
*Preferred: *Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited institution in any field of study

Transcriber I:

- Graduation from high school or equivalent
- If hired, a 90-day TypeWell certification course is provided. Progression to Transcriber II is based on passing the certification exam at the end
Transcriber II:

- Successful completion of TypeWell Basic Skills training, and
- Passing score for the TypeWell Comprehensive Skill test
Transcriber III:
Passing score on an in-house Advanced Level Transcriber test
