Timpanogos Golf Club is hiring seasonal Golf Turf Operations laborers to perform general maintenance duties around the course and clubhouse. Job Details

Application Review Process: This is an open file posting. Applications will be considered in the order they are received for any positions available at that time. They will remain on file for a minimum of 60 days. Applicants must meet the minimum requirements listed below to be eligible for consideration.

Pay Rate: $10.00 - $18.00 per hour, depending upon skill level and experience. Payment will be by direct deposit.

Essential Duties:

  • Perform general maintenance duties including routine manual labor.

  • Operate mowers, dump trucks, or other light equipment.

  • Grease reels and motors.

  • Maintain fuel and fluid levels for all types of equipment on a daily basis.

  • Report equipment problems or failure to the equipment manager.

  • Wash, clean and maintain equipment used.

  • Maintain and clean grounds shop/garage.

  • Rake bunkers.

  • Assist in project work.

  • Assist in constructing new greens, tees, and fairways.

  • Lay sod and seed tees, greens, and fairways.

  • Install paths using gravel and asphalt mixes.

  • Excavate and backfill ditches and trenches with hand tools.

  • May be assigned responsibility to care for and maintain several designated holes on the golf course.

  • Assist other crew members as needed/directed.

  • Perform other related work as required.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Any training or experience that demonstrates an ability to perform the duties of the position.

  • Working knowledge of the safe use of hand tools and equipment required by the position.

  • Physical strength and agility enough to perform the work, ability to follow directions and communicate with the public in a courteous manner.

  • Valid, lawful driver license and/or commercial driver license may be required at time of appointment.

Hours/Duration: This is a part-time seasonal position for a fixed term from approximately February 20 – December 2, 2024. Actual schedule may vary throughout the season and will be coordinated with supervisor.

Physical and Environmental Factors: This position requires working outside in all weather conditions including rain, sun, and varying temperatures. This position may also require using equipment, bending, reaching, stooping, climbing, and lifting items up to 50lbs. May interact with members of the public in tense or hostile situations.

Pre-Employment Screening: Prior to appointment, applicant may be required to successfully pass a drug screening and background investigation. Applicants with unsatisfactory drug screen results will be ineligible for appointment or application to any Provo City position for a minimum period of six months.
