PPL Corporation Sr. Human Resources Business Partner in Providence, Rhode Island

Overview

Responsible for counseling and advising operating management and supervision on human resource/labor relations (HR/LR) issues. Implements and educates employees on human resource policies, procedures and guidelines as well as collective bargaining agreements (for applicable represented employees) to support corporate and divisional objectives relating to employee issues. Coordinates training, staffing, compensation, diversity, labor and employee relations activities.

Responsibilities

  • Leads and facilitates sensitive and critical employee investigations related to safety violations, employee misconduct and violations of company policies. Consults with LOB management, Legal, Auditing and other relevant departments on employee relations issues ensuring proper contractual and legal requirements are addressed in the resolution/discipline administered. Responsible for writing formal discipline.

  • Educates and coaches line management on contract interpretation, company policies and work rules as well as applicable federal and state regulations to ensure fair and consistent delivery of human resource products and services and compliance with local labor agreemen

  • Educates, coaches and counsels members of the organization on performance management, employee development and diversity to build work teams who fully contribute to meeting or exceeding business goals.

  • Identifies non-technical training and education needs and initiates cost-effective delivery systems to meet those needs.

  • Works with staffing to coordinate the internal and external recruiting process, coordinating with HR generalists in other divisions, as necessary.

  • Works with the compensation department to coordinate the salaried and hourly compensation systems including both base and incentive compensation.

  • Works with the functional managers to coordinate the employee dispute resolution processes including ethics concerns, grievances and arbitration.

  • Serves on cross-divisional HR teams to ensure consistent application of corporate HR policies and development of new or revised policies

  • Works with line management in instituting work system improvements which positively impact business profitability.

  • Ensure diversity commitment is an integral component of all HR processes, with particular emphasis in the staffing processes both internally and externally. Represents the company to create positive relationships with minority groups, colleges and technical schools.

  • Represents the line of business in contract negotiations to ensure business needs are met. Leads grievance hearings and formally responds on behalf of the Company.

  • Ensure diversity commitment is an integral component of all HR processes, with particular emphasis in the staffing processes both internally and externally. Represents the company to create positive relationships with minority groups, colleges and technical schools.

  • Represents the line of business in contract negotiations to ensure business needs are met. Leads grievance hearings and formally responds on behalf of the Company.

  • Represents the Company in arbitrations, unemployment hearings and mediations.

  • All other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree plus minimum five years of human resource multidisciplinary experience required.

  • Excellent PC and demonstrated leadership skills.

Remote Work
