Overview

The Technical Regulatory Senior Manager is a team member of Rhode Island Operations and leads Rhode Island Energy’s involvement in technical matters, including in formal regulatory dockets and innovative projects for both Electric and Gas lines of business. A successful candidate must have strong technical and business acumen, be highly organized, and be able to develop and maintain close working relationships. Candidate will be considered a key contributor in a complex environment who may lead functional teams or projects and is recognized as an expert in their function within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership and directs the execution and implementation of new and innovative Electric and or Gas projects and pilots. Sets priorities to ensure task completion and coordinates work activities with project team.

  • Leads and directs technical activities of internal and external resources to support Electric and or Gas regulatory filings and dockets.

  • Provides guidance and direction on Company Tariffs and may participate as lead in tariff development or revisions.

  • Participates in cross-functional teams to complete discovery, respond to data requests, meet regulatory deadlines and ensure strong internal communication, collaboration and teamwork.

  • Participates in high profile stakeholder engagement activities including providing support for external meetings and addressing ongoing technical requests.

  • Ensures effective and efficient operations of the processes and systems used internally. Challenges existing processes and seeks to continuously improve business processes to drive greater efficiency.

  • Will be assigned an emergency and storm role. This is a special assignment that comes into play during storms and other emergencies when the company needs to restore power or respond to other issues affecting customer service. This role may necessitate the need to work after-hours, outside normal work schedules.

  • The company reserves the right to determine if this position will be assigned to work on-site, remotely, or a combination of both. Assigned work location may change. In the case of remote work, physical presence in the office/on-site may be required to engage in face-to-face interaction and coordination of work among direct reports and co-workers.

ABET accredited Bachelor's degre in engineering or engineering technology.
