Job Title: Environmental Technician 1

Job Description

A large nationwide environmental company is looking to hire a few environmental technicians for their Providence team. As an Environmental Technician, you will be responsible for transporting drums of waste, accurately identifying the contents, and properly loading and offloading them onto trucks. You will also separate hazardous and non-hazardous waste, ensuring they are placed in the correct areas of the warehouse, and maintain the cleanliness of the warehouse. The company will provide certification for the 40 Hour HAZWOPER certification.

Responsibilities

• Transport drums of waste and dispose of them in a hopper

• Identify and separate hazardous and non-hazardous waste

• Load and offload drums onto trucks

• Maintain cleanliness of the warehouse by sweeping and organizing

• Ensure all waste is correctly labeled and stored in the appropriate areas

Essential Skills

• 1+ year of environmental labor experience

• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment

• Strong work ethic and positive attitude

• Willingness to obtain 40 Hour HAZWOPER certification

• Basic troubleshooting skills

Work Environment

The work environment is split between indoor and outdoor settings in the environmental field. The shift is Monday to Friday, with hours from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM or 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. There are also opportunities for overtime.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Providence, Rhode Island.
