Position Information

Position Title Director of Women's Basketball Operations/Assistant Coach

Overview

Coordinating the day-to-day operations of the Women’s Basketball office and facilitating clear communication between the basketball coaching staff and student-athletes with various offices and support services on campus. Responsible for compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations.

Essential Duties:

  1. Assist basketball staff in complying with academic support services to ensure follow through with tutorials and study tables, serve as basketball staff liaison to various offices such as: athletic business manager, associate AD for marketing, assistant AD and compliance officer. Ensure that all details are completed. Coordinate head coaches daily schedule to ensure that he/she is cognizant of all commitments.

  2. Coordinate film exchange program between other schools to maintain current scouting video file at all times. Develop video editing system for scouting of future opponents. Meet with athletic business manager weekly to ensure that all purchase orders, vouchers, and bills are properly documented and completed. Monitor and manage Women’s Basketball operating budget in excess of $300,000 and scholarship budget in excess of $600,000. Interface with Assistant AD of Compliance to ensure that proper documentation is completed for official visits, letters of intent, read of admissibility, recruiting, etc.

  3. Coordinate all coaches’ travel, team travel, meals, hotels, etc. Act as traveling secretary. Oversee graduate assistant and student workers.

  4. Schedule all home and away games (both practice and regular) for team. Manage complimentary ticket program, determining who will receive tickets and how many will be distributed.

    Marginal Duties:

  5. Perform all other duties as may be required.

    Education and Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field from an accredited institution required

  • Three to five years’ experience in administrative setting or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Working knowledge of basketball and general office operations

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook/Outlook Calendar

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

  • Ability to work in a fast past, deadline driven environment
