Penn Medicine Princeton House is seeking a full-time Mental Health Associate for night shift.

Summary:

  • The Mental Health Associate will assist with the care and monitoring of behavioral health patients in Penn Medicine Princeton House.

Responsibilities:

  • Participates as a member of the treatment team for the patient’s individualized treatment program.

  • Maintains a safe and therapeutic milieu by enforcing program rules, regulations and limits. Assists in monitoring and maintaining the environmental standards for the physical environment.

  • Performs behavioral observations, completes unit rounds, checks and monitors patients as assigned.

  • Assists in emergencies and codes according to established protocols.

  • Provides orientation to unit for new patients, including assisting with patient searches.

  • Demonstrates competency in the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to meet patients’ physical, psychological and social needs with those growth and development levels/patient populations served within the department.

  • Assists with documentation and completion of paperwork as needed.

  • Supports customer service and performance improvement goals of the department; collaborates with other caregivers/staff, within and outside the Department, to develop means of enhancing patient care and services.

  • Offers support and guidance to patients as needed

  • Identifies significant changes in patients' clinical status and communicates to appropriate member(s) of the treatment team.

  • Maintains standards of confidentiality.

  • Complies with department uniform requirements.

  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned

Credentials:

  • Valid Driver's License

Education or Equivalent Experience:

  • Bachelor of Arts or Science (Required)

  • Bachelors' degree in social science or related specialization.
