Job Title: Mechanical Drafter

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Drafter responsible for generating detail drawings for our major product, the electrical slip ring, which transmits continuous power and electrical signals from a stationary to a rotating structure. The role involves collaborating with inspection and engineering departments to gather necessary data, creating drawings and 3D models using SolidWorks, updating existing drawings using AutoCAD, and maintaining engineering data within our ERP system. Adherence to company standards for drafting and documentation is crucial.

Responsibilities

• Generate detail drawings for electrical slip rings.

• Gather measurements, specifications, and data from inspection and engineering departments.

• Create drawings and 3D models using SolidWorks.

• Update existing drawings using AutoCAD.

• Periodically update engineering data within the company's ERP system.

• Follow company standards for drafting and documentation.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in SolidWorks CAD software with at least 200 hours of 3D modeling/design experience.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.

• Strong knowledge of drafting principles and practices.

• Proficient in computer skills, including Word, Excel, and Internet.

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in creating technical drawings.

• Strong problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

• Good communication skills for effective collaboration with engineers, designers, and other stakeholders.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Drafting, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent (preferred but not necessary).

• Familiarity with technical writing and documentation standards.

• Experience in the aerospace defense industry is a plus.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $28.46/hr.
