Who we’re looking for

Toyota’s PE-Paint Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Senior Engineer.

The primary responsibility of this role is to manage area project schedules for new equipment installation, new model introduction, shop capacity studies, competitiveness improvement, and overall facilitation with related plant production groups. This role will also mentor and coach junior members of the group.

Reporting to the TMNA Paint PE Region 2 Manager, the person in this role will support the PE-Paint Region 2 department's objective to effectively manage capital projects, and new model introductions, and provide necessary support to ensure competitive daily operations.

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead area project planning, implementation, and follow-up

  • Lead new model introductions, including equipment modifications, process jigs, etc.

  • Lead competitiveness improvement projects for a local production shop

  • Negotiate scope of work and define roles/responsibilities within the project and across teams

  • Identify necessary investment and equipment modifications for capacity increases, model mixes, etc.

  • Mentor other members of the team in project responsibilities.

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree in the Engineering Field, Engineering Technology degree, or 4+ years of equivalent experience

  • Proficient knowledge of MS Office applications (Excel for analysis and PowerPoint for reporting and creating presentations)

  • Experience in high-volume manufacturing environment

  • Experience coordinating equipment installations with multiple contractors

  • Project Management experience

Added bonus if you have

  • Automotive manufacturing paint experience

  • Experience with AutoCAD or CATIA

  • Experience in automotive production engineering

  • Experience writing equipment specifications

  • Experience with Ringi development and requisition preparation

  • Coaching and/or mentoring of junior team members
