Examples of Duties
In this position you will:
- Screen court visitors; operate hand-held and walk-through magnetometers to detect concealed weapons and hazardous objects.
{=html} <!-- --> - Interact with difficult and/or belligerent persons to diffuse situations peacefully.
{=html} <!-- --> - Respond to security or emergency situations directly or by contacting appropriate staff, law enforcement or other emergency personnel as necessary.
{=html} <!-- --> - Assist patrons entering the courthouse and provide directions and information in a professional manner.
{=html} <!-- --> - Act proactively to effectively and discreetly defuse potential problem situations with minimal disruption to court services. Recognize and refer situation best handled by law enforcement. Escort disruptive patrons from Town premises and call law enforcement when necessary.
{=html} <!-- --> - Identify potential security/safety concerns and notify the Court Manager and/or Magistrate Judge; prepare and submit reports on security incidents.
