Under general supervision, performs assessment work of routine difficulty in monitoring juveniles assigned to the work crew as ordered by the court or a probation officer; performs related work as required or assigned. MAJOR DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides supervision of juveniles placed on work crews. (65%) Places probationers into service positions. (10%) Provides information to probation officers on progress of crew participants. (5%) Prepares and maintains records for the community restitution program. (5%) Evaluates participant performance. (5%) Attends scheduled training. (5%) Performs other job related functions or duties as assigned. (5%) Expectations: The ability to comprehend and make inferences from written materials in order to prepare and maintain records, and prepare reports. To establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies, and the public. To follow written and verbal instructions. The ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, in addition to, communicating orally and by telephone with the public and employees in a face-to-face setting. To observe and monitor objects, data, and/or behavior to determine compliance with prescribed operating or safety standards. To produce written documents with clearly organized thoughts using proper sentence construction, punctuation and grammar. This position may be required to work some Sundays
