The Framework team in the Teams org focuses on providing common software components used throughout the Teams ecosystem and Microsoft. This role includes the opportunity to build relationships and lead efforts across many teams as well as the challenge to dive deep and contribute to solving critical issues on the path to delivering new features. We are searching for a passionate and experienced Technical Program Manager to lead cross-team programs within and outside the Teams organization.

Responsibilities

  • You will work closely with software engineers, engineering managers, product managers, and TPMs across different teams to drive programs from ideation to launch leveraging established processes, tools, and communications mechanisms.

  • You are responsible to build the roadmap in alignment with business priorities and drive alignment across teams include leadership.

  • You are responsible for building and driving the schedule working with teams involved in the program, making appropriate tradeoffs to optimize for quality and time to market.

  • You own all communications of the program to internal, external and leadership teams. These include (and not limited to) status of the program on a regular basis, risks and the mitigations, changes to schedule.

  • You will work closely with product managers to make sure that features maximize value to customers.

  • You will work closely with the engineering teams to ensure that the right technical tradeoffs are being made, software practices and other processes are being followed, right priorities are being addressed, and progress is being made.

  • You will work with external teams to negotiate the incoming and outgoing dependencies. You act as the first point of contact to reduce randomizations to the engineering team.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.

  • Experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

  • Demonstrated experience across the entire product lifecycle – from competitive research, ideation, user centered design, specification, architecture, and the know-how required to lead the crew to realize team vision.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
